Shavei Tzion Beach

Shavei Zion beach near Nahariya. The beach is a children’s attraction because of its natural sea pool, a small and quiet beach. The beach within the reserve is Zifzif Beach, which is built of shells, and unique in Israel. Various parts of the beach have beach rocks and beaded tables. The beach is with a lifeguard awning, at the center of a dive center, fishing boat marina, fishing pier, shade sheds, sea showers and kiosk. To the south of Shavei Zion’s bathing beach is a monument in memory of 13 cruise ships that fell on the Lebanese coast in 1997. Argaman Beach in Akko is a declared beach, overlooking the Old City walls. Gali Galil Beach

Gali Galil Beach is a beach protected by a breakwater integrated with the Nahariya Beach Boardwalk, shade sheds have been set up for bathers with wooden tables, lawns, lifeguards, toilets, showers and a kiosk. In addition to the children’s pool which includes water slides and a toddler pool. The beach is handled by the Nahariya Municipality on a regular basis throughout the year and open throughout the year, admission to the beach complex is free of charge. Achziv Beach National Park

Blue bays and rocky crevices, sandstone ridges and rare plants, sea turtle nesting sites, the remains of the biblical town of Akhziv, and the sea-pool bathing beach – all await you at Achziv Beach. The length of the beach is five kilometers; the park includes the western part of the Ladder Ridge in the Achziv National Park, which is an exit point for excursions in the area and a parking lot for night stays. Lagoons and bathing pools at Achziv National Park are a wonderful combination of natural phenomena and the work of man. The beach has two pools: a pool of shallow water and a pool of deep water. You can enjoy picnic areas and recreation areas in the wild. In the garden there are wide picnic and camping areas (6 acres). Betzet Beach

Betzet Beach is the northernmost of the beaches of the State of Israel, the beach is on a stunning stretch of land. Some say that a visit to the Betzet Beach is definitely like a little leap abroad. Banana Beach Achziv

Ahihud Forest

Whether you are looking for a view of the Galilee landscape, a pleasant place to sit for a picnic, an adventurous hiking trail or an experiential bicycle trip, Ahihud Forest is the place for you! On the road between Akko and Safed, in front of the entrance to the settlement of Gilon, you will find a scenic road along it with several observation points on the Carmel, the Zevulun Valley and Haifa Bay. Along the forest you will find neat parking lots with shaded picnic tables set in a natural grove of eucalyptus, oak and cypress. The benefactors among you will be able to go from there for a hike on the nearby Gamal Mountain and cycling enthusiasts will be able to go from there to the single Ahihud.

Tel Hanaton

Tel Hanaton is a successful destination for those looking for a short family trip or a coffee and picnic spot. Opposite the entrance to Kibbutz Hanaton, there is an turn to an impressive hill that rises above the Beit Netofa Valley and offers a view of the valley, Beit Rimon and the nearby Eshkol Reservoir. There are also remains of an ancient Crusader fortress, for those of you who are interested in history and archaeology.

Rosh Hanikra Beach — Recommended by Tour Guide Ayelet Bar-Meir Rosh Hanikra Beach is the northernmost beach in the country and the walk along it brings us together with a magical landscape, coastal vegetation, and interesting history. The route begins in the square near Rosh Hanikra, from here go down to the beach, in front of you you will see the remains of an ancient quarry and small pools of water that remained here to testify to days when it passed through trade on the kurkar ridge and in kurkar, other uses were made, such as quarrying stones for construction and mining ponds for the purpose collecting salt. To the north is the Sulam Tzur ridge, which crosses the border between Israel and Lebanon, and the white cliff of Rosh Hanikra, which kisses the sea. Climb the kurkar ridge and you will see beyond it the flat fencing tables made by time and waves. Continue north and climb the small hill, the broken sea view will be revealed to your eyes and another beautiful section of the ancient quarry. Keshet Cave

The Keshet Cave (also known as the Rainbow Cave or Arch Cave) in the Galilee, is one of the most beautiful, natural wonders in the land of Israel. Not only is the large natural arch with the shallow cave beneath it a pleasure to see, it also attracts hundreds of extreme sports enthusiasts who like to rappel from the arch down to the cave floor below. The view from the top of the arch is breathtaking and is found up against the Israel-Lebanon border just a few kilometers from Rosh HaNikra and the warm Mediterranean Sea.

Tel Yodfat

A short route in the ancient Yodfat National Park, which is free to enter, is a circular route of 1 km – about an hour’s walk. The route is suitable for families with children. This is the mound where the ancient city of Yodfat was located, there are cisterns, wells, an ancient cloth house and other remains. The route leaves the entrance area marked with black paths, after about 450 meters turn left to a short path that leads to the ancient cloth house. Walk through it until you reach the blue trail markings, turn right and go up the mound to a great view overlooking the mountains and return with the blue trail to the starting point. In the autumn season – the area is filled with minerals! Child-friendly And of course, do not forget to go to the nearby Yodfat Cafe, a charming cafe that overlooks a spectacular view.

Goren Park

Goren Park extends into the heart of the Western Galilee grove and above the Kziv River. KKL-JNF established it in 1963 as the first and largest park in Israel that is a natural forest of oak, cultivated and nurtured its plants, built parking lots and opened hiking trails. The park stretches over 500 acres and offers hiking trails to the Kziv River Reserve, Ein Tamir and the Monfort Fortress. The park itself has walking paths for the whole family. Its spectacular green landscapes, with its variety of entertainment options, have made Goren Park one of the most important tours in Israel.

Rosh Hanikra

The fascinating tourist attraction of Rosh Hanikra is located at the most north-western corner of Israel, the only point in the country where the sea meets the mountains. Visiting the site is suitable for families of all ages and is recommended all year round! At the site you will find multiple attractions, enjoyable for the whole family, including the Grottos – a ravishing natural phenomenon, cable car rides, an audiovisual presentation, bicycle and golf cart rides, restaurants overlooking the sea and more.

Khurvat (Ruin) Daniela

Khurvat Daniela, is an archaeological site in the Upper Galilee. The site is located near the Sarach River parking lot. The findings of the archaeological site and the excavations conducted at the site attest to a large village whose central remains span five dunams. It seems that the core of the settlement began in the Roman period and expanded in the Byzantine period. During the Crusader and Mamluk periods, the site was reconstructed and the buildings and levels of the ancient floors were renovated. Five olive presses were exposed in the area, for which the economy of the settlement was based.

Goren Park

Goren Park is located at the top of a huge cliff, which rises above the northern bank of the Kziv River. From the edge of the cliff you can see the magnificent views of the Kziv River Reserve and the Western Galilee. On the steep slope opposite the park is the Crusader Fortress of Monfort among the trees of the green grove. KKL-JNF began to cultivate Goren Park in 1963. The park, which covers 2,000 dunams, has marked hiking trails, lookouts and past sites, where KKL-JNF has parking lots for day and night stays, drinking water and two toilets. Goren Park is an ideal base for hiking near the Kziv River and Monfort Fortress. In the winter and spring, the slopes cover a spectacular bloom, and with a little luck, you can watch the Persian Bimur – a species of deer that was released to nature and integrated into the surroundings. In light of all this, it is no wonder that Goren Park is one of the most important hiking spots in Israel. Hanita Forest

The Hanita Forest is spread along the slopes of the Western Galilee around Kibbutz Hanita. KKL-JNF planted the forest, which extends from Hanita to the town of Shlomi. At the top of the forest stands a reconstructed model of the Tower and Stockade site and a parking lot adapted for the disabled. A picnic area is at the bottom of the forest, near Shlomi. The Hanita Forest is planted on the western edge of the Sulam Tzur mountain range and covers 2,300 acres north of the town of Shlomi. The Jewish National Fund (JNF) began planting the forest in the 1940s. The first planters were the settlers in Hanita, who established the JNF lands as part of the Tower and Stockade Operation. In the spring, colorful vegetation blooms here that paints the forest in a multitude of colors and beautifully contributes to the Tower and Stockade site, observation sites, scenery and hiking trails that the JNF has prepared in the forest. Next to the tower is a recreational parking area which includes picnic tables and campfire areas, bbq stands, water fountains and is accessible to the disabled. In the lower part of the Hanita Forest, another parking area leads to a hiking trail to the Be’er Stream through the coniferous forest trees. In the forest there are additional paths that allow walking between tree orchards and seasonal blooms.

Extreme Park Akko

The Extreme Park in Akko is the largest and most professional in Israel, with the largest climbing wall in the Middle East at 32 meters, a huge 90 meter omega, SKYTRACK tracks and over 2000 meters of amazing climbing walls, with about 8,000 climbing grips designed specifically from France. Zikit Theater is a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural theater, operating at Tefen in the Galilee. The theater produces performances and plays for adults and children, and every year it tours overseas and in festivals around the world. Among the shows for children: Four Seasons and One Vivaldi, Guli, Voices (a show in Hebrew and Arabic), Genesis Circus and more… Booking shows for groups and events is available as well as a meeting with the artists.

Treasures in the Wall Museum

The “Treasures in the Wall” Museum is located in the heart of the Old Wall of Old Akko. The historic structure formerly used by the Ottoman Guard soldiers is divided into vaulted halls containing rare collections of treasures that reflect the life of the Galilee from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The objects shed light on the lifestyles of ancient Acre residents and illustrate the Galilean folklore that derived its origins from the various people who lived and traded in the area during previous generations.The starting point for establishing the exhibitions is the presentation of the human being in the environment in which he lived and acted, with reference to a similar and unique variety of religions and communities that existed in the Galilee in the last 200 years (Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Bedouins, Circassians and Bahá’ís). One wing of the museum simulates a 19th-century market, a market that offers a trip to the Galilee of a century ago. Various artisan shops, such as a hat-maker shop, with original work tools are displayed. Davidson Sculpture Garden

The sculpture garden and the house gallery of Ruth and Meirke Davidson provide the visitor with unique mosaics combined with natural groves and a flower garden. We will go up road 70 to the north and turn right to road 8911 towards Abdon. After a small bridge, we will turn right onto a dirt road that will bring us to the entrance to the reserve. Don’t be scared by a lot of cars, sometimes it just looks busy and actually inside you will find nice corners to sit in.

Goren Park

The Botanical Gardens

The garden presents a variety of vegetation in the basin of the Mediterranean. On its 21 acres in the northern part of the city of Akko you will find vegetation from the Atlas Mountains in northern Africa, from the Iberian forests, a variety of ancient species from the Canary Islands, eastern Mediterranean vegetation and, of course, plants from the coastal and Negev regions of Israel. The park includes attractions for the whole family: playgrounds, hiking trails, observation points, seating areas and a water fountain, where wide and comfortable paths are paved.

Across Napoleon Hill, the City of Akko has set up the Lily Sharon Park, a tourist attraction for couples, families or groups for a day of fun. Lily Sharon Park is located in a large, beautiful grove north of Ben Ami Street (Highway 85). The park serves as an outdoor recreation area with picnic tables scattered among the trees. In the center of the park, at its highest point, children’s playgrounds were placed. Among the options offered in the park are: play areas, walk-able trails, parking, picnic areas, fountains, toilets, amphitheater and event space. Entrance to the park is free of charge and no prior arrangement is required, as well as bus parking on site. Due to the park’s strategic location and proximity to several points of interest in Akko, the park can serve as a great base for breakfast, lunch or a haven from the heavy heat.

Liman Grove

In front of the entrance to Moshav Liman, a little south of Betzet Junction, you will find a shady and pleasant eucalyptus grove with picnic tables. The pleasant air coming from the sea and the shade of the spacious eucalyptus trees make the place a nice spot to stop and enjoy the Galilean tranquility.

Slightly south of the movil junction, there is a new parking lot with wooden tables, a picnic area, and fountains. This is a peaceful corner to sit in for a pleasant picnic in the shade of the surrounding oaks and greenery, or go for a short stroll in the surrounding nature.

Kabri Archaeological Forest

Join a tour for the entire family in the Kabri Archaeological Park, which was recently commissioned by KKL-JNF. As part of the tour, we will visit an exhibition of archaeological finds and agricultural installations collected from ancient sites in the vicinity.

Argaman Beach Akko

The Citadel – Music in Akko

Under the heading “You have a place to hangout”, a new entertainment complex for music and live performances called “The Citadel” was launched in Old Akko. The entertainment complex was set up in the festival gardens in Old Akko. The concept of the new entertainment venue is to have live performances by the best artists, around tables or standing and when the performance is over an all-night DJ Party awaits you. Food can be purchased at the venue and is provided by The Rutz restaurant, which is located on the entertainment complex. The maximum occupancy at the festival grounds is 500 people and the entry is on a first come, first served basis. Lily Sharon Park

Knight’s Hall – Hospitaller Fortress

The Knights’ Halls were formerly used for lodging and eating for the Crusader settlements in Akko, which are located in the Akko fortress. The halls were discovered in the 1960s during an excavation for laying sewer pipes, and the site research began in 1992, and as of 2012, the conservation and excavation work had not yet been completed. The hall structure consists of four wings. The northern wing is located on the northern route of the Akko Wall, with nine long and narrow halls. The east wing has a large hall – the “Grand Monier”, which is covered with cross vaults. This hall served as a conference hall and a place to have ceremonies for the Knights. The southern wing is where the magnificent Gothic-style refectory resides. Underneath the dining room is a tunnel that leads to the southern part of the complex, containing the remains of a Gothic church and a Turkish hammam that is on the level of the Crusader city and most of which has not yet been exposed. The west wing has two floors for the combatants’ living quarters. Both the west wing and the south wing are built in a grand style, and were probably built in a later period. The visit to the Knights’ Hall is accompanied by an audio guide that tells the story of the fortress. The walk between the halls is done independently and in each hall an explanation can be heard. The entire site is accessible to the disabled except for the getaway cave.

The Bustan Beehive, Peki’in

The Peki’in Hive was founded by Gamal Hir in 1977 in the village of Peki’in. The Hive offers relaxed entertainment and heartfelt hospitality in a beautiful area that includes a Bedouin tent overlooking spectacular views, a wide range of activities and so much more. The site was officially opened to visitors at a festive ceremony after a period of about 10 years of development and construction work.The purpose of the site is to combine rural hospitality with a variety of fun activities and the educational aspect of the site – travelers can learn about the honey production process, sun clocks and also learn about the history of the Peki’in village as well as the history of the Druze community. The site has 3 workshops for children, a living area and a petting zoo, a children’s play area, a family picnic area, 3 huge tents with big seating areas. There is a Druze restaurant for pre-reserved groups. The site is suitable for special occasions and is open in winter – there is a sealed tent, heated by an oven.

Every trip leaves from the Razer compound, beginning from the enchanting Achziv Nature Preserve, facing views of the beaches and white inlets surrounding the park. From there they continue along breathtaking routes in forests, hills and charming hidden places in Western Galilee. ATV Galilee has 18 brand new groups, sophisticated Razers which you will self-drive, ride into the field together with a professional guide who will tell you all about those secret places and the local Galilee views. At the ATV compound you will have a delightful gathering place with restrooms and soft drinks for the guests’ convenience before going out on their trip. On all the routes there are rest stops where hot drinks and refreshments are offered by the accompanying guide. Groups can request a welcome reception as well as light meals. ATV Galilee is a family business headed by Michal and Ofir Kroparo. Michal and Ofir are married with three children. They were both born and raised in the Western Galilee. They have always been involved in the tourism business. At some point they decided to look for a new challenge while remaining in the tourism trade and in Western Galilee. That was how, in 2016, they decided to take on the family business and develop it. The routes of these trips are suitable for children aged two and up. They are not suitable for pregnant women or people with back problems. After producing their drivers’ licenses, the guests drive new Razers that are maintained according to all the highest technical standards. The company has full insurance coverage and licensing.

TOP-IL was founded in 2021 by the brothers Avinoam and Nimrod Israel. The two live and breathe the world of extreme sports and see it as the ultimate way to connect man with nature. TOP-IL specializes in rappelling and climbing, producing fun days and team-building for groups, setting up rope parks that include training and operation, sports navigation, and more, all of this accompanied by ODT tools to create a unique and different experience. Etgar-Bahar (Challenge Mountain) Extreme Rope Park is located in the beautiful Kibbutz Sasa. Among the pine trees, there is a single-style challenge park – “Etgar-Bahar” – a huge rope and zipline park with many and varied facilities for ages two to two hundred! An amazing experience to increase the heart rate and explore the limits of courage, mutual help, and cooperation. Dror Zabdi, a field and challenge man at heart and a professional in his field, established the park after studies and training in abseiling and operating parks and can accompany his team with professionalism and examination, while strictly adhering to strict safety procedures. Etgar-Bahar offers rope routes, a climbing wall, paintball, an army route for the brave only (and the only style in the country), over 80 types of zipline, and more! The many facilities are suitable for a wide range of ages and levels of difficulty. In the park, you will meet a young and dynamic team that provides service with a smile of joy, courtesy, and patience. Hefer Ranch in Moshav Abirim, is a gem in the heart of the forest. Out of a huge love for nature and the environment and for the person living in it, Eyal and Edna Hefer established the Hefer Ranch. Today you can notice the unique attention in every corner and you will always be greeted with a big smile and love. Come and enjoy the activities offered by Hefer Ranch for a day’s visit! An adventurous trip in Tomcar or Ranger without a guide: In a natural forest, with a view of the sea and the Monfort Fortress, lies the Tomkar / Rangers route of Hefer Ranch. Out of love for the land, man, and everything in between, Hefer Ranch invites you to a beautiful 30-kilometer route with the whole family, without a guide. After you get to meet and get to know Eyal Hefer, the owner of the place, or one of his children who work there also, you will receive a digital map and a driving briefing and you will have a great adventure. Knight’s Hall – Hospitaller Fortress

Okashi Art Museum

Adjacent to the Knights’ Halls in Old Acre, an ancient building with cruciform domes dating back to the Ottoman period houses a museum featuring rotating exhibitions of Israeli art alongside a permanent exhibit of the works of late artist, Avshalom Okashi (1916-1980). Okashi was undoubtedly one of Israel’s most salient artists and he left an indelible mark on Israeli art. He spent most of his life in Acre, where he set up his painting workshop (which became the Okashi Museum posthumously) in order to pass on his artistic heritage to future generations. Okashi taught art in most of Acre’s schools. He also taught at the University of Haifa’s Art Department during its initial years. The subjects of his early works are rooted in nature and in the human and spiritual reality of Israel and they are drawn from the biblical texts he grew up on in his grandfather’s home. His works are exhibited in the section dedicated to the museum’s permanent exhibition in his name, which was established in his memory in Old Acre. Moreover, there are rotating exhibitions in the other section of the museum also featuring contemporary Israeli art.The museum maintains an ongoing dialogue with artists pursuing Okashi’s path and with his pupils and exhibits their works at every possible opportunity.

The Underground Prisoners Museum, Old Akko

The Underground Prisoners Museum in Old Akko is a memorial museum in memory of the members of the Jewish Underground imprisoned in the Akko prison during the British Mandate period. The Museum of Underground Prisoners, operated by the Ministry of Defense, has created an innovative display depicting the circumstances of the underground fighters’ incarceration, their life in prison, the story of the Akko prison breakout, and the story of the gallows. The tour highlights the core values during the time the underground fighters operated: Zionism and the love of the land, heroism and sacrifice. The museum is housed in the Akko fortress, which was built during the Ottoman period. During the Ottoman rule, the fortress served as a military base, the Akko governor’s residence and more.

Ghetto Fighters’ House Museum

The Ghetto Fighters’ House – Itzhak Katzenelson Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Heritage Museum– known as the “House” – is not only the first Holocaust museum in the world but also the first of its kind to be founded by Holocaust survivors. The museum tells the story of the Holocaust during World War II, emphasizing the bravery, spiritual triumph and the incredible ability of Holocaust survivors and the fighters of the revolt to rebuild their lives in a new country about which they had dreamed – the State of Israel. The Ghetto Fighters’ House gives evidence to the founders’ vision. Having to put behind them the grief and the horror, they chose to come to the Western Galilee in order to build a flourishing kibbutz – the Ghetto Fighters’ Kibbutz – and the museum located within the community. In 1995, the Yad Layeled Children’s Memorial Museum was established at the Ghetto Fighters’ House in order to commemorate the memory of the Jewish children who perished during the Holocaust. The aim of the children’s museum is to acquaint young visitors with the world of the children who lived during the Holocaust, providing an experiential venue through which they can explore the subject of the Holocaust in an age appropriate manner.

Al-Basha Turkish Bath

The construction of the hammam (bathhouse) was part of the transformation of Akko during the Ottoman period, mainly by Algiers Pasha, from a small fishing village to a port city where there is a busy and buoyant movement of commerce and construction. During his reign, Algiers worked to promote the city in many different areas. Among his plans was the construction of the aqueduct that led the spring water to the city, the construction of the breakwater for safe docking in the harbor and the erection of important buildings such as Khan El Omdan, the great mosque of Akko, his magnificent palace, and of course the hammam. In the Hammam there are three main parts: the summer dressing room, the four mezzanine rooms, which are between the cold and warm rooms, and the warm room – the last room is the essence of the Hammam. For about fifty years, from its inception until the War of Independence in 1948, the Hamam functioned as an active bathhouse. In addition to the religious role, fulfilling the purity precepts before prayer, the Hammam played a significant part in almost every aspect of life in the Ottoman city. It served as a place for social gatherings, for recreation and celebrations, was the home of doctors and barbers and served as a “pampering house” for the city’s wealthy.

Hanita Museum

Hanita symbolizes the height of Operation ‘Tower and Stockade,’ a settlement method used by Zionist settlers before the establishment of the state. The operation led to the establishment of over 50 settlements, mostly kibbutzim. Hanita was the largest to be established and one of the first in the Western Galilee; it gave a strong impression on the Jewish community. It turned Hanita into a national symbol of the new settlement in the Land of Israel. The museum exhibits the events of the period, the story of the immigration and the early years of the kibbutz.
