Housed in an ancient Ottoman building with cruciform vaults next to the Knights' Halls, this museum was once the personal studio of Avshalom Okashi (1916–1980), one of Israel’s prominent modern artists who spent most of his career creating in Old Akko.
The museum is divided into two distinct galleries. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to the life and legacy of Avshalom Okashi, showcasing his powerful, expressive works deeply rooted in nature, Israeli spiritual life, and biblical themes.
The adjacent gallery hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary Israeli art, fostering an active dialogue with emerging creators, Okashi’s former pupils, and modern artists who continue to carry forward his artistic legacy.
