BEAUTIFUL SPOTS AND LOOKOUTS
Norman Trail
The Norman Trail, also known as the Yellow Stone Trail, is named after Norman, an artist who lives on Kfar Vradim. One day, quite a few years ago, he decided to turn the huge forested hill (Ashkar Mountain) south of the village into a kind of tacit playground. He created little trails and small, sometimes almost invisible signs that lead to the realm of imagination and great hints from fairy tails. For example, you can meet at the "house of Snow White" – which is actually a unique rock. The view from Ashkar Mountain, the Galilean atmosphere and the fantastic rocks in the area make the point worthy of coffee.
Yehi'am Stream
In a dense, mostly shaded, Galilee grove there is a beautiful and pleasant trail along the Yehi'am Stream. The trail starts from the Yehi'am Fortress with a glorious past.
Betzet Stream
The Betzet Stream trail is a very friendly, short and beautiful route of about 3 km. The trail takes you along a green path, full of trees while you walk beside the river. The two banks of the Betzet stream are guarded by huge Plane trees and oleander bushes and ensure a pleasant chill even in the summer.
Farod River and Falls
Right at the foot of Mount Meron, awaits you a magical sight, the Parod Waterfalls. Parod Falls flow for a short period only in winter and spring after the winter rains, but when they flow, visiting them is one of the most spectacular experiences for travelers in the Galilee.
The Summit Path
A circular trail suitable for the whole family. The route encircles the summit of Mount Meron, the highest mountain in the country, with the exception of Mount Hermon. The path allows viewing the landscape in all directions, including the Lebanon Observation Point. On the path there are balconies where you can enjoy the wide view to the Galilee Mountains.
Tzalmon River
The Tzalmon River, which flows in the northern part of the Lower Galilee, is a light and short trail in nature. The trail flows near or in water and can be completed without too much effort. The route is not circular, but walking back and forth is relatively short.
Rocks Park
The Rocks Park on the fringes of the Mount Sinai reserve, in the Western Galilee, is a place that is entirely natural in nature: boulders in a variety of imaginary forms rise in the heart of a developed Mediterranean grove. The park is an invitation from nature to bring the whole family for a walk.
Keshet Cave
The Keshet Cave (also known as the Rainbow Cave or Arch Cave) in the Galilee, is one of the most beautiful, natural wonders in the land of Israel. Not only is the large natural arch with the shallow cave beneath it a pleasure to see, it also attracts hundreds of extreme sports enthusiasts who like to rappel from the arch down to the cave floor below. The view from the top of the arch is breathtaking and is found up against the Israel-Lebanon border just a few kilometers from Rosh HaNikra and the warm Mediterranean Sea.
Goren Park
Goren Park extends into the heart of the Western Galilee grove and above the Kziv River. KKL-JNF established it in 1963 as the first and largest park in Israel that is a natural forest of oak, cultivated and nurtured its plants, built parking lots and opened hiking trails. The park stretches over 500 acres and offers hiking trails to the Kziv River Reserve, Ein Tamir and the Monfort Fortress. The park itself has walking paths for the whole family. Its spectacular green landscapes, with its variety of entertainment options, have made Goren Park one of the most important tours in Israel.

Khurvat (Ruin) Daniela
Khurvat Daniela, is an archaeological site in the Upper Galilee. The site is located near the Sarach River parking lot. The findings of the archaeological site and the excavations conducted at the site attest to a large village whose central remains span five dunams. It seems that the core of the settlement began in the Roman period and expanded in the Byzantine period. During the Crusader and Mamluk periods, the site was reconstructed and the buildings and levels of the ancient floors were renovated. Five olive presses were exposed in the area, for which the economy of the settlement was based.
Adir Mountain
On Mount Adir, not far from Kibbutz Sasa, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority has prepared a beautiful observation post. The observatory stands in the heart of an evergreen grove and overlooks the expanses of the Galilee and southern Lebanon. Mount Adir, one of the highest mountains in the Galilee, rises to 1,008 m above sea level. The mountain slopes are covered with a well-developed forest. The trees that control it are oak and wormwood, and other accompaniments of the grove, such as terebinth, the thorny hawthorn and the common catfish. At the top of the mountain there is a military camp (easy to identify according to the many antennas). On the northern slope, a small group of Mountain Ash, a rare species of wood, that grows in Israel. On the steep slope opposite the park is the Crusader Fortress of Monfort among the trees of the green grove. KKL-JNF began to cultivate Goren Park in 1963. The park, which covers 2,000 dunams, has marked hiking trails, lookouts and past sites, where KKL-JNF has parking lots for day and night stays, drinking water and two toilets. Goren Park is an ideal base for hiking near the Kziv River and Monfort Fortress. In the winter and spring, the slopes cover a spectacular bloom, and with a little luck, you can watch the Persian Bimur – a species of deer that was released to nature and integrated into the surroundings. In light of all this, it is no wonder that Goren Park is one of the most important hiking spots in Israel. Recommended season: all year Length in kilometers: 8 km Duration: 3-5 hours Difficulty: Easy

Hanita Forest
The Hanita Forest is spread along the slopes of the Western Galilee around Kibbutz Hanita. KKL-JNF planted the forest, which extends from Hanita to the town of Shlomi. At the top of the forest stands a reconstructed model of the Tower and Stockade site and a parking lot adapted for the disabled. A picnic area is at the bottom of the forest, near Shlomi. The Hanita Forest is planted on the western edge of the Sulam Tzur mountain range and covers 2,300 acres north of the town of Shlomi. The Jewish National Fund (JNF) began planting the forest in the 1940s. The first planters were the settlers in Hanita, who established the JNF lands as part of the Tower and Stockade Operation. In the spring, colorful vegetation blooms here that paints the forest in a multitude of colors and beautifully contributes to the Tower and Stockade site, observation sites, scenery and hiking trails that the JNF has prepared in the forest. Next to the tower is a recreational parking area which includes picnic tables and campfire areas, bbq stands, water fountains and is accessible to the disabled. In the lower part of the Hanita Forest, another parking area leads to a hiking trail to the Be'er Stream through the coniferous forest trees. In the forest there are additional paths that allow walking between tree orchards and seasonal blooms.

Tel Akko also known as Napoleon’s Hill is located at the entrance to the city and welcomes those entering Acre from the eastern side. It is known as the historic site to which Napoleon Bonaparte had reached and then failed to breach into Akko. From Tel Akko you can get a view of the Old City, the sea and the city walls. Archeological and historical findings teach that Tel Akko was where the city of Akko first stood in ancient times and up to the beginning of the Hellenistic period, the city’s center eventually shifted west to where the Old City of Acre is located today. Some of the findings revealed at Tel Akko teach us that it had, among other things, a Purple-Dye industry producing the color from two types of snails inhabiting the Na’aman River area. Also prevalent was metal production. Address: Acre’s eastern city entrance Open to the public at all times

Treasures in the Wall Museum
The "Treasures in the Wall" Museum is located in the heart of the Old Wall of Old Akko. The historic structure formerly used by the Ottoman Guard soldiers is divided into vaulted halls containing rare collections of treasures that reflect the life of the Galilee from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The objects shed light on the lifestyles of ancient Acre residents and illustrate the Galilean folklore that derived its origins from the various people who lived and traded in the area during previous generations. The starting point for establishing the exhibitions is the presentation of the human being in the environment in which he lived and acted, with reference to a similar and unique variety of religions and communities that existed in the Galilee in the last 200 years (Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Bedouins, Circassians and Bahá'ís). One wing of the museum simulates a 19th-century market, a market that offers a trip to the Galilee of a century ago. Various artisan shops, such as a hat-maker shop, with original work tools are displayed. The second wing, dedicated to collectors and collections, features a damask inlaid seashell with Samobar with dedication to Ahmad al-Jazar, old closets including collections of lamps, weights, sacred vessels of the three religions and more. The second wing, dedicated to collectors and collections, features a Damascan checkered salon including a samovar with a dedication to Ahmed al-Jazar, old cabinets including collections of lamps, weights, sacred tools of the three religions and more.
Buza Ice-Cream
Buza Ice-Cream is, first of all, a dream. Adam Ziv from Kibbutz Sasa traveled the world, following his dream to learn how to make ice-cream. He worked in various ice-cream parlors around the world and learned the profession. His longest internship was in Italy, at a small ice-cream parlor in a village near Florence. When he returned to Israel, his dream was clear: to open a high-quality ice-cream parlor in a Galilean village and make ice-cream with a Galilean touch, from the best possible natural ingredients. In his search for the perfect location, Adam met Alaa Sweitat, owner of Aluma restaurant in Tarshiha, and their partnership was set instantly. And so, Buza (Arabic for ice-cream) was born, an Arab-Jewish collaboration between Adam from Kibbutz Sasa and Alaa. Buza's Galilean roots are strong – in the love for raw materials, the tastes and smells. That is the foundation for the its ice-cream – hand-made daily with much care and from the best and freshest raw materials. Ice-cream is not just one thing. Like colors, songs and people Buza's ice-creams have different characters. For example, Rich Chocolate – stable and serious, a dignified veteran, and Grapefruit Arak – young, fresh and surprising, or Mascarpone and Figs – you can't really tell if it's from here or from somewhere completely different, and Vanilla – nostalgic ice-cream, makes you thinks of childhood, and many more. Buza House at Kibbutz Sasa invites you to participate in ice-cream workshops and celebrate events.

Hanita Museum
Hanita symbolizes the height of Operation 'Tower and Stockade,' a settlement method used by Zionist settlers before the establishment of the state. Hanita was the largest to be established and one of the first in the Western Galilee; it gave a strong impression on the Jewish community. It turned Hanita into a national symbol of the new settlement in the Land of Israel. The museum exhibits the events of the period, the story of the immigration and the early years of the kibbutz.
Knight's Hall – Hospitaller Fortress
The Knights' Halls were formerly used for lodging and eating for the Crusader settlements in Akko, which are located in the Akko fortress. The halls were discovered in the 1960s during an excavation for laying sewer pipes, and the site research began in 1992, and as of 2012, the conservation and excavation work had not yet been completed. The hall structure consists of four wings. The northern wing is located on the northern route of the Akko Wall, with nine long and narrow halls. The east wing has a large hall – the "Grand Monier", which is covered with cross vaults. This hall served as a conference hall and a place to have ceremonies for the Knights. The southern wing is where the magnificent Gothic-style refectory resides. Underneath the dining room is a tunnel that leads to the southern part of the complex, containing the remains of a Gothic church and a Turkish hammam that is on the level of the Crusader city and most of which has not yet been exposed. The west wing has two floors for the combatants' living quarters. Both the west wing and the south wing are built in a grand style, and were probably built in a later period. The visit to the Knights' Hall is accompanied by an audio guide that tells the story of the fortress. The walk between the halls is done independently and in each hall an explanation can be heard. Monkey Forest
The Monkey Forest started out as a living corner for Yodfat children in the 1970s. Then, our squirrel-monkeys were brought from a habitat in Belgium and the area was renamed "Monkey Forest." Even then, our attitude was that holding the monkeys in the cages was wrong and that's why the monkeys were given a big forest plot for life in a territory just for them. In 1990, the Monkey Forest became a haven for animals, education and tourism. Ever since, the basis for connecting with the animals and the vegetation is respect and love. The approach is that animals feel, sense and matter to our world and deserve to live (when not in nature) as close to natural conditions as possible. Now we invite you, lovers of nature and animals, to come, walk leisurely through the forest paths, to meet the animals living there, without compromising the trust created with the animals, their safety and the vegetation. But wait … what animals are in the park? Squirrel monkeys, crab macaque monkeys, green garden monkeys, lemurs, capuchin monkeys, donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep, parrots, water birds, African ostrich, emu, ferret, elk, deer, sea turtles, falcon, nasua, and other animals you can discover during your visit with us. Because with us, it's really natural for you to come visit us. Opening Hours: Sunday | 9am-4pm Monday-Thursday | 9am-4pm Friday and Holiday Evenings | 9am-3pm Saturday and Holidays | 9am-4pm
Ghetto Fighters' House Museum
The Ghetto Fighters' House – Itzhak Katzenelson Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Heritage Museum– known as the “House” – is not only the first Holocaust museum in the world but also the first of its kind to be founded by Holocaust survivors. The museum tells the story of the Holocaust during World War II, emphasizing the bravery, spiritual triumph and the incredible ability of Holocaust survivors and the fighters of the revolt to rebuild their lives in a new country about which they had dreamed – the State of Israel. The Ghetto Fighters’ House gives evidence to the founders’ vision. Having to put behind them the grief and the horror, they chose to come to the Western Galilee in order to build a flourishing kibbutz – the Ghetto Fighters’ Kibbutz – and the museum located within the community. In 1995, the Yad Layeled Children’s Memorial Museum was established at the Ghetto Fighters’ House in order to commemorate the memory of the Jewish children who perished during the Holocaust. The aim of the children’s museum is to acquaint young visitors with the world of the children who lived during the Holocaust, providing an experiential venue through which they can explore the subject of the Holocaust in an age appropriate manner.

Yiftah’el Winery
Yiftah’el Winery was opened in 1999 as another part to Hadas and Zvika Ofir's farm in Alon HaGalil. In 2004, Winemaker Kobi Tuch joined the winery as an advisor. Kobi is the founder of Israel's first boutique winery – Mount Meron Winery. Yiftah’el vineyard is located west of Highway 77, on the northern slopes of a hill facing Zippori River. The grapevines are planted in terra rossa soil with hard limestone. Hadas and Zvika came to Alon HaGalil in 1984, the two grew up in Moshavim and wanted to continue their families' farming traditions on a new, young Moshav. Their farm (or Meshek) started from a little apiary which grew bigger and bigger until it became the farm's main source of income. In 1986, they decided to plant a vineyard in order to deepen their roots in the lands of the Galilee. Zvika says: "For years we sold grapes to different wineries, and the wines that were made from them got many praises. In 1999, we decided to start our own winery and make our own wine. Ever since, we make sure our wine is produced solely from our vineyard's grapes. Our wines are unique because they are each made of 100% one particular variety of grapes. The proximity to the winery and dedicated care of the vineyard, contribute to the production of high-quality wine, all thanks to the expertise of Winemaker Kobi Tuch". The winery offers a variety of wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Shiraz, Marselan and Petit Syrah – reds, and Roussanne – white. The winery makes around 5,000 bottles a year, each made using one specific grape variety. Zvika and Hadas brought an American cabin to the farm and inside it you can taste and purchase their wine, nine types of honey produced in the farm, and enjoy small changing exhibitions by Galilean artists.

The construction of the hammam (bathhouse) was part of the transformation of Akko during the Ottoman period, mainly by Algiers Pasha, from a small fishing village to a port city where there is a busy and buoyant movement of commerce and construction. During his reign, Algiers worked to promote the city in many different areas. Among his plans was the construction of the aqueduct that led the spring water to the city, the construction of the breakwater for safe docking in the harbor and the erection of important buildings such as Khan El Omdan, the great mosque of Akko, his magnificent palace, and of course the hammam. In the Hammam there are three main parts: the summer dressing room, the four mezzanine rooms, which are between the cold and warm rooms, and the warm room – the last room is the essence of the Hammam. For about fifty years, from its inception until the War of Independence in 1948, the Hamam functioned as an active bathhouse. In addition to the religious role, fulfilling the purity precepts before prayer, the Hammam played a significant part in almost every aspect of life in the Ottoman city. It served as a place for social gatherings, for recreation and celebrations, was the home of doctors and barbers and served as a "pampering house" for the city's wealthy.

The entire site is accessible to the disabled except for the getaway cave.
Al-Basha Turkish Bath

The entire site is accessible to the disabled except for the getaway cave.
Al-Basha Turkish Bath
Okashi Art Museum
Adjacent to the Knights' Halls in Old Acre, an ancient building with cruciform domes dating back to the Ottoman period houses a museum featuring rotating exhibitions of Israeli art alongside a permanent exhibit of the works of late artist, Avshalom Okashi (1916-1980). Okashi was undoubtedly one of Israel's most salient artists and he left an indelible mark on Israeli art. He spent most of his life in Acre, where he set up his painting workshop (which became the Okashi Museum posthumously) in order to pass on his artistic heritage to future generations. Okashi taught art in most of Acre's schools. He also taught at the University of Haifa's Art Department during its initial years. The subjects of his early works are rooted in nature and in the human and spiritual reality of Israel and they are drawn from the biblical texts he grew up on in his grandfather's home. His works are exhibited in the section dedicated to the museum's permanent exhibition in his name, which was established in his memory in Old Acre. Moreover, there are rotating exhibitions in the other section of the museum also featuring contemporary Israeli art.The museum maintains an ongoing dialogue with artists pursuing Okashi's path and with his pupils and exhibits their works at every possible opportunity.
