Kibbutz Cabri
Archaeological Park and Historic Site
צומת כברי
Join a tour for the entire family in the Kabri Archaeological Park, which was recently commissioned by KKL-JNF. As part of the tour, we will visit an exhibition of archaeological finds and agricultural installations collected from ancient sites in the vicinity.
Situated near Kibbutz Kabri, the surrounding ancient mound preserves the ruins of a major Middle Bronze Age Canaanite city-kingdom dating back over 3,500 years. Archaeological excavations here revealed a magnificent Canaanite palace featuring Aegean-style fresco floor paintings – indicative of early Mediterranean trade connections with Minoan Crete – as well as one of the oldest and largest royal wine cellars ever discovered in the Near East.
Developed in partnership with KKL-JNF (Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael – Jewish National Fund), the park offers accessible walking paths that guide visitors through reconstructed olive presses, wine presses, and ancient stone implements. The guided tours bring the region’s agricultural history to life, making it an engaging and educational destination for families, history enthusiasts, and travelers exploring the Western Galilee.
