A Day Trip in the Meta Asher Area

We will go north on road 70. A little after the village of Sheikh Danun, we turn left to the Yehi’am Memorial parking lot. On the site, you can hear the story and get an impression of the special monument.  

From River to River: A Trip From Nahal Sarach to Nahal Betset

We will drive on the north road from Shlomi to the east, we will pass Kibbutz Eilon, and about 100 meters east of the Garnoth HaGalil industrial area we will turn left following the KKL sign for the road to Nahal Sarach. After about a kilometer we will reach a large parking lot, from which a walking path leads to Nahal Sarach and Nahal Betset. At the end of the parking lot, there is a sign and trail markings to the Daniela Ruins. The route is short, marked, comfortable, and mostly shaded by an umbrella of thick-stemmed pine trees and other forest trees that compare to the ruin we will reach, the appearance of an ancient mound in the thick of the jungle somewhere in the world.

Ein Hardalit & the Secrets of the Area

We will go up road 70 to the north and turn right to road 8911 towards Abdon. After a small bridge, we will turn right onto a dirt road that will bring us to the entrance to the reserve. Don’t be scared by a lot of cars, sometimes it just looks busy and actually inside you will find nice corners to sit in.

Day Trip to the Nahal Kziv Reserve & Its Surroundings

We will start the hiking trail at the bottom of the farm into the dense forest, an oak forest like no other in the country. The serious advantage of this trail is the abundant shade. You can also go in the summer. The signage to the stream is relatively good, follow the yellow markings. You reach the connection with the black trail and descend with Nahal Avirim or by its Arabic name Tariq al-Mithana – the road to the flour mills. The trail is relatively steep and ends at Nahal Kziv where you can wade in the cool water that always flows there.

Family Day on the Coast

The first point of the route is the Ein Afek Nature Reserve. On the northern side of Kiryat Motzkin, on Route 4 (Haifa-Acre), there is the Ein Afek junction, at this junction turn east to road 7911 (towards Shfaram), and after about 2 km you see signs and turn towards the Ein Afek nature reserve.

Day Trip to Yehi’am & Clil

This route requires two vehicles, the first one is left at Kibbutz Yehi’am and the second one is left in Clil. The first point is Kibbutz Yehi’am where the Yehiam Fortress is located and the beginning of the route of Nahal Yehi’am. At the Kabri intersection, turn right, and after 3 km at the Ga’aton intersection, turn right in the direction of Ga’aton and Yehi’am. Continue straight to Kibbutz Yehi’am, enter the main gate, and drive straight to the parking lot of the Yehi’am Fortress.
