We will go north on road 70. A little after the village of Sheikh Danun, we turn left to the Yehi’am Memorial parking lot. On the site, you can hear the story and get an impression of the special monument.
The Yehiam Convoy Memorial commemorates the soldiers who fell during Israel’s Independence War, while attempting to help the besieged people of kibbutz Yehiam. A total of 70 soldiers are commemorated. Yehiam Convoy was a supply convoy, part of Carmeli Brigade, who set out in 1948 from Nahariya to kibbutz Yehiam. The convoy was ambushed and attacked by gangs; 46 soldiers were killed.
In the 1960s the Gaaton Regional Council decided to make a reconstruction of the battle where the convoy fell. The job was given to Sculptor Yehiel Shami, member of the nearby kibbutz Kabri. The memorial is at the exact location where the attack happened. With audio explanations in Hebrew and English, signs about the region prior and during the Independence War, shaded picnic tables and sitting areas.
After the visit to the Yehi’am Park, we will return to Route 70 and drive north to Ein Hardalit
Ein Hardalit is one of the springs that feed Nahal Kaziv. A large part of the spring water is pumped to provide drinking water to the residents of the area, but some of it is returned to the stream channel, thus preserving its natural habitat. The area where the clear water flows has become a real paradise for travelers. It has plane trees that provide wide shade, fig trees that bear fruit, impressive cliffs that rise above, and some wonderful and peaceful wading pools. The recommended and deepest pool is at the point where the water bursts out of the pipe that returns it to nature, and you should go far and reach it. The route is an addition to the 365 springs travel book series, a spring for every day.

After visiting nature and wading in the clear waters of Ein Hardalit, we highly recommend the Adelina restaurant located in Kibbutz Cabri
Inside what was once the first Culture House of Kibbutz Cabri, is Adelina restaurant with its cozy rustic-European style and large patio overlooking banana plantations seemingly floating in the distance. Chef Rushdi Daquar and his skilled staff, serve a diverse menu combining flavors and ingredients from the Galilee with Spanish-Catalan cuisine.
After we have strengthened ourselves with a delicious meal, we will continue the trip to the Rosh Hanikra site
Rosh Hanikra Reserve is located at the northern part of Israel’s Mediterranean Sea, with a steep cliff descending to the sea and a bay beach. The only point in Israel where the sea meets the mountains. A short walk at the heart of the cliff reveals the unique and beautiful grottos which are actually marine caves with changing colors throughout the day and seasons. The grottos are most beautiful during sunsets and storms.
It is impossible to end such a magical day without drinking coffee and tasting the wonderful pastries at the Tosha Bakery, a café bakery located 5 minutes away by car.
Shahaf Avraham and Tomer Swisa are friends and co-workers from northern Israel, who after many years of gaining knowledge and experience working in leading restaurants in Israel, decided to make their dream come true and opened Tosha. Tomer, who studied under Hans and Galit Bertele, under Estella and also interned in France, creates cakes and pastries that are as beautiful as they are tasty. Tosha has an eclectic and comfortable design, including a bar made of bicycles, built by the two of them.
