Jewelry studio and gallery in Old Akko owned by the goldsmith Orly Coffler. The studio offers handmade jewelry, wall jewelry, workshops, and boutique events.
From Orly’s beautiful studio we will continue to the Art 192 Gallery, also in a beautiful and renovated ancient building that displays the works of 10 female artists who joined them together, and it is literally right around the corner!
A vibrant and lively group of 10 women artists, each different with her own unique say. Together, they settled in an impressive conserved building from Ottoman empire times, cleaned, renovated and placed rich and diverse exhibitions inside it. The gallery center has a changing exhibition of a different guest artist every month.
The gallery is everchanging and no visit is like the other.
The gallery offers creative workshops in various subjects for groups and individuals. Advance booking required.
The next stop is the Fisherman’s Square, the heart of Akko’s sea life and fishermen.
The spacious FIsherman’s Square is the heart of Akko’s sea life and fishermen. In front of it is the pier and the harbor, on one side that touches the walls stands the Sea Mosque and on the western side, we see one of the iconic buildings of Akko – the great merchants’ khan, Khan al-Omdan, topped by a unique clock tower.
The square was the “welcoming hall” of the city and for all those coming from the sea gate of Akko.
Here stood carriage owners, road guides, peddlers, fast food stalls, and anyone who provided service to those coming to Eretz Yisrael.
After we were impressed by the Fishermen’s Square, it was time to be impressed by Moshe Apota’s Akko Art Gallery.
The Akko Art Gallery was founded by Moshe Apota, an avid art lover, due to his love for art, nationalism and Akko.
In the gallery, which is located at the end of the old and happy market in Akko, near the artists’ alley, you can find a variety of works by dozens of Israeli artists, some of them young and new immigrants at the beginning of their journey from a variety of ethnicities and religions, from Akko and Galilean artists to renowned Israeli artists such as Menashe Kadishman, Nachman Gutman, and private collections.
Right in front of the gallery, we can sit and enjoy the famous and most delicious Malabi in Akko (and in our opinion, the whole country!)!
Tina Khativ, born in Akko, always dreamed of hosting people and making them happy. She learned how to make Malabi from her grandmothers and today she is making her dreams come true in a place she opened and renovated with her own two hands. The Malabi House, established in 2018, is a beautiful and colorful booth. The stand offers excellent Malabi according to the Turkish-Akko tradition, handmade from only high-quality raw materials.
In the same picturesque and beautiful alley, two buildings down, you arrive at “Naomeh”, a special gallery for Israeli art.
Gallery, exhibition, and store for original Israeli art.
In front of Naomeh is the wonderful Turkiz Restaurant and Cafe. You can eat here or at the Elmarsa Chef Restaurant in the port. Your choice!
Turkiz is a Mediterranean-style market cafe and restaurant. The owner, Samir Asadi, prepares everything himself and on the menu, you can find special and unique salads, dishes and desserts with the taste of home and love made by Samir’s hands. The restaurant is located between the market and the marina of Old Akko, in a small and picturesque alley, decorated by the owner with flowers, plants, and string lights.
You are invited to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of Turkiz, the varied and delicious menu served in the beautiful collection of dishes that Samir has collected from all over the world. The outside of the restaurant is all turquoise, you can’t miss it!
A chef restaurant in Akko, combining European and local Akko cuisine. The Chef likes to combine different cooking styles and play with flavors and inspirations. The result is a variety of savory dishes. A great combination of local and European cuisines with fresh sea ingredients and raw materials.
