From August to October, Tel Yodfat is full of beautiful blooms!
Get an easy and pleasant route for the whole family that combines coffee and breakfast in front of a spectacular view, a trip to Tel Yodfat, and ending at the Ofir Farm, with a glass of wine and fine cheeses for the adults and playgrounds in the shade of the eucalyptus trees for the children.
Yodfat Cafe, found in the green Misgav Regional Council, was established out of love of people, nature, food and culture.
This wonderful combination is reflected in the café on all levels – the beautifully designed and aesthetic complex, the delicious and special food made from local, Galilean ingredients: olive oil from Yodfat, local sourdough bread, Malka beer and Dalton wine, in the cozy hospitality of the terrace facing the landscape of Mount HaSha’avi, at live shows and events.
After coffee and breakfast, we will go down to Tel Yodfat to enjoy the amazing blooms.
The route is suitable for families with children. This is the mound where the ancient city of Yodfat was located, there are cisterns, wells, an ancient cloth house and other remains. The route leaves the entrance area marked with black paths, after about 450 meters turn left to a short path that leads to the ancient cloth house.
Follow it until you reach the blue trails, turn right and go up the mound to a great view that burns into the mountains and return with the blue trail to the starting point.
In the autumn season – the area is filled with minerals.
Child-friendly
Afterward, we will go to rest in the shade of the eucalyptus trees at the Ofir Farm and enjoy their local produce.
The Ofir Farm is part of Hadas and Zvika Ofir’s dream in Alon HaGalil, both are third generation farmers. The farm’s main products are from its wine vineyard, apiary, and dryland farming. The wines are unique because each is made up of 100% of a particular variety of grapes. The proximity to the winery and dedicated care of the vineyard contribute to the production of high-quality wines. There are 5 varieties of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Sangiovese, and Petit Syrah. The vineyard is located on the southern slopes of Zippori stream, in red limestone, which is an excellent habitat for a wine vineyard.
