9 am – 10:30 am Start the morning at the Kamah Center
Breakfast, explanation, and tour of the Kamah Association, a unique community in Kibbutz Harduf. The Kamah Association is a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities that works, in cooperation with the community, to create a protected and inclusive environment for children and adults with diverse and different needs. There is a cafe surrounded by a Galilean landscape, a beautiful terrace surrounded by beds of medicinal plants, and a unique gallery that offers the purchase of fresh organic pastries and foods, homemade concoctions, pottery, ceramic products, paper, and weaving all made by local members. The cafe serves organic breakfasts based on natural and organic Galilean produce. Kosher.
10:30 – 11 am Dive to Kibbutz Afek
11 am – 12:30 pm Workshop at the Omanya Studio
Enjoy a creative workshop for leather embroidery at Omanya Studio with Eldad Bahar, making 1-2 personal items at Kibbutz Afek. At the Omanya Studio in Kibbutz Afek, Eldad Bahar conducts unique leather crafting workshops. During the workshop, each participant learns a variety of handmade leather creation techniques with the help of which the raw material is transformed into a wonderful leather creation.
12:30 pm – 1 pm Drive to Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk
1:30 pm – 3 pm Tour & Explanation of the Secret of the Kibbutz Miracle
A kibbutz experience of yesteryear and today, in the original kibbutz buildings, which have undergone a beautiful conservation process, you can get a fascinating glimpse of kibbutz life in its early years and later visit the unique Monio Gallery, which presents changing exhibitions. The visit includes an explanation and a tour of the exhibition (as of January 2023, the exhibition presents artists from the Galilee who create upcycling art based on sustainability). Stroll through the kibbutz lawns, get a glimpse of the original shoemaker shop, the traditional clothing of pioneers, and other unique experiences are guaranteed!
3 pm – 3:30 pm Drive to Ya’ara
3:30 pm – 5 pm Visit Ruti & Gili Hospitality from the Heart in Ya’ara
A home accommodation complex with a personal touch. In the beautiful home of Ruti and Gili in Ya’ara, enjoy a homemade meal with a focus on quality raw materials from the Galilee, taste homemade food on the purity of the couscous, steaming pea soup and more (kosher meat/vegan) on a full stomach, listen to the exciting stories of Ruti and Gili about the fulfillment of their dreams.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
