Dr. Shelly-Anne Peleg is a tour guide, lecturer, and researcher specializing in archaeology and the Land of Israel. She seeks to transform visits to heritage sites into meaningful encounters with human stories. For Shelly, archaeology is not only about stones and artifacts, but also, and perhaps above all, about people. She strives to give a voice both to people and to the stones themselves, revealing the stories behind official history: stories from the distant past alongside the living voices of the present.
At the heart of her work are the values of cultural partnership, equality, gender equality, love of the land, and respect for people. These values guide both her work in the field and her lectures and guided tours.
Over the years, she has worked behind the scenes on numerous significant projects. In every encounter, whether a tour, lecture, or conversation, she seeks to reveal what is not always immediately visible: the human stories behind the sites, historical processes, and stones.
Shelly lectures, writes, and continues to pursue research, driven by a desire to deepen the connections between people, places, and memory.
