Upcycling Objects & Creating a Personal Sculpture with Artist Igal Rozenblatt
A Workshop in Memory of Dror Alton
Tzurit
How can old objects be transformed into new works of art? In artist Igal Rozenblatt’s Tzurit studio, items such as cutlery, graters, bottle caps, and trays are given a new lease on life and become original sculptures. During the workshop, you will explore Igal’s creative world, discuss creativity and the potential in repurposed materials, and try your hand at creating a personal sculpture by combining metal and wood. Each participant will create their own piece; no prior experience is necessary.
This workshop holds a special significance: it is part of a fundraising initiative to commemorate the late Sergeant Major (Res.) Dror Alton—a combat soldier, commander, and bomb disposal expert in the Yamam Counter-Terrorism Unit. Dror fell in battle at the Sha’ar HaNegev Junction on October 7, 2023, at the age of 29. Having grown up and been educated in the community of Tzurit, Dror is honored here through a blend of local artistic creation and a tribute to his memory.
*All proceeds from the workshop will be donated to the My Way Foundation, established in memory of Dror Alton.
Price: 250 NIS per person, including artist guidance, materials, a personal sculpture, and light refreshments.
