In Kibbutz Afek, in the heart of a green and quiet environment, the Omanya studio operates as a living workshop for leather creation, founded and led by the artist Eldad Bahar. It is a space of doing things with your hands, a different rhythm, and a real connection to natural raw material and traditional handicrafts.
The workshop is suitable for children, parents, teenagers, grandparents ― and anyone who likes to create and experience something a little different.
We will open the meeting in a pleasant atmosphere with coffee, herbal tea, and light refreshments, and then we will get to know the world of leather work through a practical demonstration and an introduction to a wide variety of items that can be created during the workshop.
Among the options to choose from: bracelets, key chains, wallets, notebooks, belts, door signs, special cases, designer bags, and a wide variety of other handmade items.
After the selection ― start to create!
Each participant will work at his own pace and leave with a personal, useful, and designed item that he created himself.

Eldad learned the craft of leatherworking during his travels around the world. He has been passing on his knowledge and love of leather art for many years in a magical workshop, where you can experience leather crafting using traditional and modern techniques, even without any prior experience.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
