And finally, we asked winemaker Johnny Stern to share with us five interesting facts about the world of wine.
- Myth busting! Do you know the saying, “Red wine with meat and white wine with fish?” So that’s a myth! You can enjoy both with either meal.
- The importance of barrels. High-quality barrels play an important role in the quality of the wine, taste, and aroma. In short, the barrel is part of the experience.
- Terroir ― another important player in the process. The climate, the direction of the sun, and even the mood affect the grapes in the vineyard, which affects the character of the wine. All in all, it makes sense.
- White or red is not just a color. It’s also the grape skins. Red wine is created when the juice is fermented together with the grape skins.
- It improves like wine. The wine continues to live in the bottle, and that’s where the main aging process takes place. Under the right conditions, the flavors become more complex and delicate over time.
