Stern Winery, a family-owned, boutique winery in the Galilee, was founded in 2004 by Johnny Stern and is situated on one of the mountain peaks at Kibbutz Tuval, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Johnny left his marketing and sales job to fulfill his dream of making wine in the Galilee.
He learned about winemaking through professional literature and the Cellar Master winemaking course at Tel-Hai Collage.
During the winery’s early years, a large group of relatives, friends, and acquaintances got together to help in almost all of the winery’s upkeep. This group later became the Friends of the Winery Club, and its members still take part in the activity.
Today, the winery makes around 30,000 bottles of wine a year, of both blended wines and varietal wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Sauvignon Blanc
The wines received many awards in local and international competitions. Recently, kosher wines were added to production.
Being Brazilian, Johnny loves wine, food, and people. Sometimes, with advance booking, he brings his loves together and holds dinner parties where he serves his wines on a farmers table at the winery’s beautiful visitors center.
Visitors can take a tour, hear about wine production, taste some wine, eat a meal (with advance booking) and purchase wines.
