Right at the foot of Mount Meron, a magical sight awaits you, Parod Falls. The stream flows only after the blessing rains of the winter and the magic of an easy trip is created! In summer and spring, you can enjoy the route that has turned into a dry and magical stream. The beginning of the stream is at Mount Hillel and its end is at the mouth of the Sea of Galilee.
The trip in the stream is especially charming if you come after the autumn and winter rains. In the summer and spring, the route is also suitable, there will be no water in the river bed but you will discover the beauty of the stream from a different angle. The path is arranged up to the beautiful Parod waterfall, after which you will return to the car or you can walk a short distance to the course of the flow of the stream down the mountain.
The beginning of the route is on a dirt road, next to the picnic parking lot, by the western bank Later on, the route becomes a little steep, crosses the river channel, and continues on the east bank. After about one km, the blue path reaches the fence of Moshav Shafer, where the route ends, you can do the route in both directions.
For the perfect picnic – stock up on the fine goat cheeses of the “Shirat Roim Dairy” and a good bottle of wine from the Lotem Winery – both in the nearby Kibbutz Lotem.
