Kishor vineyard is located at Kishorit, on the Upper Western Galilee mountain range, 500 meters above sea level. The unique climate of the area, characterized by big day and night temperature differences, combined with rocky terrain, creates an ideal environment for a long and slow ripening of the fruit, which gives the wine its color, aroma, and special taste. The quality and health of the grapes and wine are achieved by maintaining the health of the soil and environment.
The Kishor vineyard and winery are owned by Kishorit village, a village for people with special needs who live together as a community and work in the village’s different production industries. The winery is one of the main industries in the village and Kishorit members are fully involved in the wine production process, in caring for and cultivating the vineyard, picking grapes, bottling wine, distributing to customers and, with the aid and support of the expert consultants and workers of the village, they essentially make Kishor wines. The visitor center is another source of income for members and it gives them an opportunity to welcome outside visitors, interact with them and see the fruit of their labor.
The winery makes about 50,000 bottles a year and its wines have won prizes in Israel and abroad.
Several grape varieties are grown at the vineyard: reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and whites: Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Riesling, and Chardonnay.
You can taste and purchase the wines on-site.
If you book in advance, you can also eat breakfast or lunch at the beautiful visitor center, with wine, cheeses, and fresh pastries that are also made in Kishorit. The center can also be reserved for private or company events.
