We will start our day in a cool, pleasant, and lesser-known spot. Ein Kovashim is a secret you will want to discover!
The hot summer days are approaching and you can already get a taste of them before the end of spring and we all start thinking about which water route we will take on our next trip.
Unlike European countries where everywhere you can find a nice stream to wade in, in our neighborhood in the Middle East it is sometimes a bit of a challenging task, especially if you want something close to parking and not to meet crowds of people.
In the Western Galilee, there are several gems such as Ein Hardalit, the path of the Kziv River, Ein Tamir, and more, but due to the fact that they are already famous, they are extremely crowded most days of the week!
A tiny place but a little less known is Ein Kovashim. A lovely corner, with refreshing pools for adults as well, but mainly attractive for those with small children. The big advantage is it is very close to parking, and there is a chance that you won’t be with crowds of people, especially if you arrive in the middle of the week.
From the spring there is a tiny stream that flows along the wooden stairs, a great view of the Mediterranean Sea, and a fun location for a picnic or even to put up a tent for the night in the adjacent parking lot.
Go from Shlomi to the north on the road to Hanita (road 8990). Hanita Forest accompanies us on the right. About 200 m after the turn to the wall and tower site, turn right on a road marked in green with signs for Ein Kovashim, which after about 700 m reaches the Jolly Harel parking lot at the foot of Ein Kovashim.
Before or after visiting the spring, you can indulge in at the Tosha Bakery with coffee, soft drinks, and great handmade pastries.
Shahaf Avraham and Tomer Swisa are friends and co-workers from northern Israel, who after many years of gaining knowledge and experience working in leading restaurants in Israel, decided to make their dream come true and opened Tosha. Tomer, who studied under Hans and Galit Bertele, under Estella and also interned in France, creates cakes and pastries that are as beautiful as they are tasty. Tosha has an eclectic and comfortable design, including a bar made of bicycles, built by the two of them.
For the adults among you, don’t miss a visit to the Julius Distillery. Be sure to schedule a visit in advance and taste the wonders of this fine distillery.
The Jullius Distillery was established in 2008 by Yuval (Joov) Har Gil. The distillery is in Hanita today, opposite an intoxicating landscape, where grape grappa is produced in a German distillation plant and also produces fruit such as tangerines, oranges and etrogs – all production processes are completely manual and natural, from the selection of agricultural raw material to bottling and packaging.
The Julius Distillery is loyal to the principles of sustainability and is one of the few solar energy distilleries in the world. All Julius products are kosher.
Instead, you can hear about the creative process, taste the variety of products and get drunk with the spectacular taste and scenery.
