Tamar & Gefen

Tamar & Gefen at Mitzpe Hila is a small and beautiful complex with three luxurious B&B cabins for couples, hand-built by Tamar and Yaron Cohen. Each suite has a private garden in a natural Galilean grove of oak and elm trees, where you will find cozy sitting areas with a jacuzzi facing nature.
Tamar, originally a graphic designer, grew up in Nahariya to a family that, while still in Europe, made wine and alcoholic drinks. Tamar sees design and textures in living color. She’s in love with natural materials, enjoys playing with their combinations and contrasts, and loves cooking, baking, and entertaining.
Yaron, part of a farmer family from Moshav Avdon in the Western Galilee, grew up surrounded by orchards, coops, and tractors. As the years went by, he followed his heart, planted a vineyard at Mitzpe Hila, right next to his home, and mastered winemaking. Connected to the land, an expert in construction and carpentry, and a lover of creating without stopping.

The complex also includes a wine room where they will be happy to host the guests of the B&B, to learn about the wine-making process. You can taste the wine that can only be drunk here and be impressed by Yaron’s impressive collection of wine openers, which he collects on his travels around the world.
The family vineyard in Mitzpe Hila grows grapes from a unique Spanish variety in our region, the Tempranillo variety, from which Yaron makes the wine. At Tamar and Geffen, small quantities of wine are produced using old-fashioned methods, without preservatives, and with long aging of at least 24 months in a wooden barrel. The wine is not sold, but a bottle of theirs will be waiting for you in each room.

At Tamar and Gefen, you can also enjoy a wonderful, varied, and luxurious breakfast, made by Tamar, which will be delivered to your room, a wonderful start to a Galilean morning, on the quiet balcony or in front of the fireplace. Tamar and Gefen is a perfect place to escape to, disconnect, and enjoy the beauty, quiet and quality of the Galilee.
