Arabesque is a boutique hotel and artists’ residence located in the heart of the old city in a spectacularly beautiful Ottoman building. When Professor Evan Fallenberg, writer and translator, founded Arabesque, he saw in his vision a home for artists, people of culture and spirit, a house of connections and community. The dream became reality and today Arabesque hosts a diverse crowd of Israelis and tourists from all over the world, alongside creators from various fields of art who come to the “Residency”, an artist program, which allows them to devote themselves to their work and develop it in the heart of ancient Akko full of magic and inspiration.
For Arabesque, under the management of the father Evan and his son Micha Fallenberg, seven spacious and beautiful guest rooms designed in an authentic style that preserves the ancient stone, a space for meals and events, a rooftop bar, an intimate inner courtyard, a library for hotel guests and an impressive entrance lobby with a grand piano and walls decorated with works of art by artisans both local and world-renowned.
Each room in the hotel has a slightly different design and size influenced by a combination of the Ottoman style and the Moroccan style with an emphasis on the preservation of the local Akko stone. Apart from one room suitable for a couple, the other rooms can host between 4 and 6 people. Guests at the hotel enjoy a traditional handmade Akko breakfast, a bar open to the public on the hotel’s roof, and special events. Arabesque’s breakfasts are also open to the general public by appointment.
