Julius Distillery ― Distillates & Visitor Center

Jullius Distillery is the first craft distillery in Israel, established in 2008 in Kibbutz Hanita by the local Yuval (Joov).
The distillery is considered a pioneer in its field and specializes in the production of quality fruit distillates (Eau de Vie), grappa (Marc) and gin, all from local raw materials only.

Jullius’ Cellar: Factory Store & Visitor Center
The beating heart of the distillery is Jullius’ Cellar, which offers a multi-sensory experience for lovers of alcohol and nature:

• Tasting & Training: an opportunity to taste award-winning distillates and receive an in-depth explanation of “the alchemy of Israeli nature”.
• Distillery Tours: a glimpse of the traditional distillation processes in copper boilers and getting to know the philosophy of the place.
• The Bar: you can sit down for a drink in a relaxed atmosphere in front of a breathtaking Galilean view.

The Philosophy & Production
The distillery advocates traditional and strict work methods:

• Boiler Distillation (Pot Still): use of small copper boilers that enable slow and precise distillation that preserves the natural aromas of the fruit.
• Local Raw Materials: use of grapes, fruits, and spices grown in Israel, without artificial flavors and aromas.
• Sustainability: utilization of by-products of the wine industry (such as grape pomace) to create fine distillates.

Outstanding Products

• Marc d’Galilee: a series of grape pomace distillates from selected grape varieties (such as Viognier, Carignan, and Muscat).
• Akko Gin: a unique gin based on grape distillate and Galilean wild plants.
• Eau de Vie: clear fruit distillates produced from apricots, peaches, plums and apricots.
• Jullius Bitters: a bitter dessert drink based on dozens of local herbs and spices.
