The “Hamalbushiya” store was founded out of nostalgia — a nostalgia for the days when socks were made in Yodfat. With the constant demand for socks and the establishment of the amazing commercial complex of Boacha Yodfat, it was decided to return to sell socks, and so much more!
Under the direction of Aviv Galon, the store also has quality clothing from the American brand Carhartt, Ulla women’s clothing, handmade wool slippers, Blundstone boots, hats for everyone, bags, and other fun accessories.
And of course, lots of socks! Colorful, fun designs, and happy — socks for all ages! The local pride — “Socks of the Past” — a local brand that is an Arab-Jewish collaboration that was established out of need and nostalgia for the times when there was a sock factory in Yodfat. The socks are designed and manufactured in Israel, here in the Galilee! Quality socks with happy, colorful, and luxurious patterns.

Michal Ezrony, born in Yodfat, has specialized in the culinary field around the world for years. When she returned to Yodfat in 2003, she opened a wine shop in her home. The store has evolved, added manufacturers, artists, and initiatives of the local people were added. This is how an eclectic, regional, and unusual variety was created, which took shape into a new and impressive complex built at the entrance to Yodfat — Boacha Yodfat.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
