Come with us on a unique tour where we will get to know the street art and art galleries in Old Akko. The tour is combined with a smartphone photography workshop by Ofek Ron Carmel ― a tour guide and geographic photographer.
We will go on a special photography tour in the beautiful alleys of Old Akko, among galleries, local Galilean art and lots of light, color, and hope.
We will meet at the entrance to the Knights’ Halls, where we will get to know the map of Akko and the architectural and historical landmarks of the city. We will learn some useful tips and tricks for smartphone photography that will accompany us throughout the tour.
We will continue through the alleys decorated by the artist Walied Kashash to the Art 192 Gallery, an inspiring place that brings together women artists from across the Galilee. We will meet the women behind the work and have a gallery talk with the project’s members, Edna Piorko and Hedva Klein, about the collaborative project, the development of the art scene in the Old City, and a variety of local stories, along with drinks and light refreshments.
We will continue to the nearby Naomeh Gallery, for a meeting with the owner and creator Esti Kehati, who will tell the story of the place.
We will end with a visit to Tina’s exquisite Malabi House for a photo shoot and tasting of the malabi, which is a work of art in itself.
