Omanya Classes― A Home for Leather Creation

Professional creative sessions to learn leather crafting at the Omanya Studio in Kibbutz Afek are an invitation to stop for a moment, work with your hands, and devote yourself to the material. The class is suitable for individuals who are interested in learning the secrets of the craft and delving deeper into it according to their personal wishes and allows for an intimate creative experience, at a personal pace and with close supervision.
The workshop has a huge variety of leather in a selection of colors, thicknesses, and textures ― thousands of buckles, rivets, snaps, colored threads, adhesives and everything you ever dreamed you would need to complete your design ideas in perfect harmony with each project.
During the meeting, led by Eldad Bahar ― an artist and leather craftsman ― participants are exposed to traditional leather working techniques, ancient tools from all over the world, old machines alongside new and modern machines and learn to transform natural raw materials into a useful and personal product. The workshop has a library of cuts and designs collected over 26 years of creation so that you can enjoy early planning and also design and plan any of your personal ideas.
The workshop takes place in the studio itself, in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere, and allows for a deep connection to the creative process, the material, and the story behind it. This is an experience that is suitable as a special pastime, as meaningful quality time ― in the company of lovely people who come to create together. As well as drinking coffee and sharing ideas.
