In the green and pastoral spaces of the Western Galilee, open to the sea and the Yechiam Fortress, about a hundred dancers from all over the world live and dance in the International Dance Village. The village is a unique site in the world, the home and center of work of the Kibbutz Dance Company, one of the leading companies.
After the reception, we will take a short tour behind the scenes, where you will meet the dancers during rehearsals and get to know the story of a leading company that represents Israel in the world and the story of Yehudit Arnon, the company’s founder, who went through Auschwitz and vowed that if she survived she would dance forever. Today, the Dance Village is the fulfillment of her dream.
Later, you will watch an exciting, musical and experiential performance or an open rehearsal, talk to the dancers and, if you wish, even dance with them.
A special and surprising day, everyone will be enchanted!
Out of a deep belief in the powerful experience of meeting the dancers and their work, Ayelet promotes tourism in the dance village, to allow visitors a fascinating look into the world of the dance company.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
