Eitan Omar is a geographer and tour guide in Israel and Scandinavia. On his tours, Eitan emphasizes connections. A connection between religions, a connection to our surroundings, a connection to the spirit, a connection to the culture, and creating a dialogue between the participants of the trip and the locals. As the founder and leader of the “Beit HaKerem Trails” project, Eitan leads his travelers between the green ridges of Misgav and the village cores in the Beit HaKerem Valley, to the ancient olive vineyards, the exciting archaeological sites and the fascinating Galilean characters in the observatories and villages.
Eitan creates rare connections between worlds: in-depth knowledge in diverse fields spiced with humor, good food, and art. Challenging field trips alongside in-depth tours. Knowledge of the Jewish sources and the writings of Christianity and Islam and their connection to the geographical reality and contemporary research. Above all — great respect for religious and cultural traditions alongside a deep commitment to humanistic and ecological values.
In short, Eitan is a kippah-wearing tour guide who is an honorary member of every Arab village in the Galilee, an entrepreneur, activist, and a man of the land who studies the Daf Yomi.
Eitan Omer, married to Yael and father of 5 from the community of Moreshet in Misgav, has an MA in geography and water resources management with a specialization in the Kinneret Basin. He manages the tourism incubator in Eshkol Beit HaKerem and lectures at Talpiot Academic College. He managed the national training system of “Eshkolot”, one of the founders of the Galilean Tour Center in Akko, and educationally led tour centers in the Golan and Carmel. Eitan is also a lecturer and instructor for tour guide courses and a sought-after guide and expert on the northern trails.
He founded and manages a project that deals with Jewish-Arab discourse based on heritage and culture and is a graduate of the Mendel program for leadership in the North.
Recently, he was very involved in the development of the Beit HaKerem Trail — about 150 km of trail in the area that opens up beautiful new corners in the villages, between the villages, and in nature.
