The flagship event of the 12th annual July Art Festival, produced by Western Galilee Now.
Friday, July 10, 2026, between 10 am – 2 pm
We will start the morning at the Bahar Center – an inspiring space in Hararit – a Galilean natural gem located on the Netofa Ridge overlooking the open and breathtaking views of the Beit Netofa Valley and the Galilee. We will meet Dalia and Boaz Ben Izhak, who moved to the Galilee from Tel Aviv over 25 years ago with the aim of fulfilling a dream and living in the Galilee.
From there we will set off on a light hike with tour guides Amnon Gofer and Dr. Shelley Anne-Peleg and be touched by the stories of the monks who lived here in solitude by choice, we will visit the church hidden in the bowels of the earth.
In the heart of a primeval landscape, among forest trees and quiet paths, lies a place where time has stood still – the monks’ hermitage on Mount Netofa.
At the end of the tour, we will return to “Bahar” and gather for a musical session featuring a trio of clarinet, keyboards, and percussion. The ensemble performs instrumental music inspired by the world of the maqam and Middle Eastern musical traditions, creating a rich space of melodies, rhythm, and improvisation.
