You are invited to discover a different Akko with us, wander through the lesser-known alleys and visit the special places.
Enter a shady and cool labyrinth into the depths of the alleys, into the houses and into the lesser-known corners of Old Akko.
Through the flavors, art, stories, and heart-opening encounters we will be inspired and discover a fascinating world.
We will visit the Western Galilee Now Visitors Center, and from there we will cross the famous market where we will meet some of the people and delicacies that make it so authentic.
We will stop to taste Ali’s special sweets, meet the people behind the hummus shop that was the subject of an episode of “Aharoni & Gidi’s Wonderful Journey”, and taste a mouthwatering golden ball in pickled lemon.
We will visit the spice shop of Marwan Kurdi, a fourth generation of spice apothecaries, where we will smell and hear about some of the dozens of jars of exotic spices from Syria, Lebanon, India, and Pakistan.
We will walk through the ornate alleys that have become an artistic representation with a fascinating social impact, and visit Beit Elfarasha, which creates ripples of change through the power of exciting women and local cooking workshops.
We will visit the Naomeh Gallery and hear its story, and at the end of the market we will meet Tina Khativ, the woman who turned her grandmothers’ recipes into a work of art and taste the best malabi in the country.
Then, a final bite to finish from Samir’s knafe at his restaurant Turkiz, whose name has gone far and wide as the best knafe in the Middle East.
