The water tower is known as a symbol of Nahariya. It is now used as an urban art gallery where changing exhibitions are displayed. The venue is also used for lectures and circles in the art, theater and music fields.
The tower was designed as a closed structure with 8 sides and its main purpose was to supply water to irrigate the northern parts of the settlement. Since 2003, the site has been reopened under the initiative of the Nahariya Municipality, in collaboration with Mifal Hapayis – Israel’s state lottery, the Council for the Preservation of Sites and the “Inner Way” – Rotary Club, and it is now used as a municipal art gallery, with changing exhibitions.
