The Malabi House is a beautiful, traditional mahalabia stand opened by Tina, a native of Akko, who learned the secrets from her grandmother. Today, in the colorful place she opened and renovated with her own hands, she prepares an excellent mahalabia (malabi) from a variety of quality raw materials and with pampering additions, made according to the Turkish-Akko tradition by hand. When you arrive you can choose from malabi based on cream, “Beirut nights”, semolina, almond milk, soy, hazelnuts, and even mango. All this richness is sprinkled with generous hand toppings such as roasted coconut chips, shredded peanuts, and crushed pistachio on the spot. Traditional, handmade rose water is poured on the dish and the result is spectacular and incredibly delicious!
In our Arab community, when you want to describe a very special woman, she is said to be a “malabi woman.” The reference is to a very deep and exquisite woman.
