Come into the traditional artisanal sweets shop of the Kashash Sweets ― here you can choose between 22 different kinds of baklava and three kinds of knafe, freshly prepared each day with a lavish sprinkling of pistachios, walnuts, peanuts, and rosewater.
There is a great variety of baklava with pistachios, almonds, cashews and even chocolate and you can also choose from three different kinds of knafe.
Kashash Sweets is a business established over 100 years ago in 1915, by Heir Kashash, who began creating traditional sweets from peanuts and sesame seeds, and selling them from his cart. Later he opened a production facility in the Old City of Akko, where he also began making such delicacies as knafe and honey-soaked baklava. Today there are four generations of Kashash family member working together in the business.
The most important thing for the Kashash family is to see the smile on their customer’s face, and that kind of love is discernible in every bite.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
