The Ha-Amami Market in the Akko Old City is considered to be the most colorful street in the city, erected on the remains of the street that led from the Hospitallers gate in the north to the Crusader port area of Venice Square. The upper beginning of Main Market Street is in Haim Farhi Square and from there it winds its way through the alleys of the Old City through the fish stalls and fish market until it reaches Venice Square and the fishing port.
In the market you can find everything that a good market can offer: fish and meat stores, spices, pastries and sweets, clothes, tapes and discs as well as small and promising restaurants, a colorful market with trinket stalls, oriental sweets and original spice shops.
Don’t forget the fresh squeezed juice stands that serve refreshing drinks of pomegranates, oranges, lemons, and some even serve sugar cane juice in season.
The market is open all week from the early morning to around 5pm, some of the market traders open later in the day and begin to close booths and shops as early as 4pm, depending on the products.
