We will start the trip with a wet and refreshing route at Nahal Tzalmon. The stream has two entrances and you can enter from either of them. It is not a circular route, so you will have to return to the car. Double the fun!
In the Tzalmon Stream, which flows in the northern part of the Lower Galilee, there is a light and easy nature trail, near or in water and without too much effort. The route is not circular, but walking there and back is relatively short (3 km) and can be done in an hour or half a day. A pleasant and easy route between flour mills and plenty of magical points.
Route description: The route is accompanied by a blue trail marking, which leads us towards the flow channel. As soon as the walk begins, we will reach a small water pool where you can dip your feet – the amount of water in it varies on the time of year. After walking about 2 km in the woods, we will reach the fifth and last flour mill that we see in the section of the river we are walking, is the al-Mashrabah Mill (the drinking place), near the Bedouin Salame settlement. From here, the water continues a little further south in the channel. From this spot near the flour mill we will turn around and start back in the direction we came from, to the trail entrance.
After we dip into the stream water and enjoyed the walk in the shady and cool area, we drive 5 minutes to the Lotem Organic Winery in Kibbutz Lotem. By the way, in the winery complex you can also find a small shop selling handmade chocolates. Highly recommended.
The Lotem – Organic Winery is a winery that combines human and earth qualities. The winery is located at a beautiful vantage point in Kibbutz Lotem, above the Sakhnin Valley, overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the entire Lower Galilee. Winemakers Jonathan Koren and Yaniv Kimchi each year produce a fair amount of fine wine bottles. You can visit the place and enjoy good wine, amazing views and a special atmosphere.
