At the summit of Mount Adir, located near the village of Matat, the Nature and Parks Authority, with the assistance of the KKL-JNF, established an observatory with a huge balcony. The balcony overlooks many sites in Lebanon where battles were fought during the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006. The view overlooks the entire Upper Galilee, the Hula Valley, and the Lebanon Mountains.
Route Description: The trail is well-marked. Those who walk it get to wander through a moist grove that also includes the worm oak, a tree that grows on the high peaks of the Upper Galilee, mainly on Mount Meron. You will also encounter raspberry hedges here, a species that also characterizes the moist grove.
