The Ein Afek Nature Reserve in the Galilean coastal plain, preserves swampland and waterway sources, the majority of which have been lost in Israel. It is home to water plants that enjoy welling springs all year round and many animals, including the African softshell turtles and buffalos that were reintroduced to the area as part of nature preservation activities. The reserve has a flour mill, pathways to ponds and swampland, animals and Tel Afek.
