The Betzet River (Arabic: Wadi Karkara) is a river in the Western Galilee. The river enters the territory of the State of Israel from Lebanon between the villages of Shtula and Zari’t, and flows into the sea near Rosh HaNikra. The river channel passes near the villages of Shomera, Arab al-Aramshe, Eilon, Adamit, Yaara, Matzuva, Shlomi, and Betzet.
The river’s drainage basin area is about 60 km2 and it also drains the streams of Sarach, Galil, Namer, Hanita, and Matzuva.
Although the Betzet River is currently dry, it is still fun to walk along the shady paths and enjoy the abundance of vegetation in the area.
