Suggestions for a romantic vacation in the Western Galilee.
Suggestion 1 – Romantic Akko
There’s nothing like a romantic getaway in Old Akko, one of the most beautiful cities in Israel, if not the world! Get two options to start your morning:
Option 1: LIWA Restaurant on the Roof of the Akotika Boutique Hotel
Photo: Aya Ben Ezri
On the roof of the hotel, facing the amazing view of the open sea, you can enjoy the chef’s restaurant LIWA with seasonal seafood cuisine. Rich and tempting breakfasts, fresh fish, and a bar that overlooks the beautiful Mediterranean (perfect for sunsets). At the Akotika Hotel, you can also combine a pampering spa treatment, and of course accommodation in the perfect suites that you won’t see anywhere else! But we’ll expand on that later.
Option 2: Turkiz Restaurant

In a beautiful little restaurant in the turquoise alley, Samir serves hearty breakfasts, fresh fish, pastries from the taboon, vegetables from the market, and some of the best knafe in town!
After a luxurious breakfast, we recommend a stroll through the colorful alleys of the Old City and a visit to the artists’ quarter.
And as we said before, if it’s romance, then go all the way! Book a night at the romantic Akotika Boutique Hotel and don’t miss out on a pampering body treatment.
Inspired by travels in Nepal, India, and southern Italy, and after falling in love and captivated by the charm of ancient Akko, the couple Tamar and Meir Dodson decided to develop an urban tourism city that combines an authentic experience of accommodation in luxurious and modern rooms in beautiful, renovated ancient buildings integrated into the cultural and human fabric of the old city.
Or in one of the designed suites at the unique and historic Arabesque Boutique Hotel.
A boutique hotel and artist center located in the heart of the Old City in a renovated ancient Ottoman building. The hotel also features a rooftop bar, an intimate courtyard, and an entrance lobby that hosts arts and cultural events.
Suggestion 2 – A Heavenly Couple Experience
The TOP-IL company offers you a couples workshop on rappelling with or without the climbing experience. A different and unconventional way to travel and experience nature sites in Israel and throughout the Western Galilee in particular, in a challenging manner and with guided and professional accompaniment.
The activity takes place on adapted sites approved by KKL-JNF and the Israel Nature & Parks Authority based on your personal choice. You can combine a preliminary trip or arrive at the spot directly by prior arrangement.
Rappelling can be done at well-known sites in the Western Galilee such as Keshet Cave, Dalton Cliff, Alma Cave, and Hota Cave (especially for extreme enthusiasts), and anywhere approved for rappelling without harming nature.
Each session is secured by a guide.
After rappelling, you can take a walk in the selected area and have a picnic with a basket of delicacies for an additional fee.

Suggestion 3 – Nature & Creativity
Skip between the villages of the Galilee, between evergreen mountains, and open the morning in the colorful Tin Time Studio in the village of Gilon. After that, continue to the village of Rakefet, where you can treat yourselves to a meal at the Yodfat Cafe and, if you wish, go shopping in the Boacha Yodfat complex.
The Tin Time Studio in Gilon is a design studio using recycled materials. It belongs to the artist Paula Rykin and is located in her house in front of a spectacular Galilean landscape. You can meet Paula, hear her story, try creating with reused materials, and sip a glass of wine. It is recommended to take a photo as a souvenir with the recycled creation you created. No prior knowledge is necessary and all you need to bring is imagination, creativity, and a little humor.
