Join tour guide Karmit Arbel Rumbak on a unique and exciting journey following inspiring women in the Galilee. Through their stories, we will be exposed to ancient languages, vivacious cultures, and a rooted identity that continues to pulsate. We will visit Gush Halab and Rihaniya, hear, taste, meet, and experience the female voices that continue to preserve, renew, and tell the story of the place.
We will begin the day in Gush Halab, where we will be hosted by Nivin ― an eloquent and knowledgeable woman ― who will share with us her personal story as a member of the Aramaic community and the deep connection between this story and the story of the displaced in Bir’im. Through an open and profound discourse, we will understand how language, memory, and identity are integrated into the daily life of the community.
From there we will continue to the Circassian village of Rehaniya, a cultural gem in the heart of the high mountains of the Galilee. We will walk through the heart of the ancient village, and meet the painter Nibal in her home ― where she will share with us her creative process and her personal story as a Circassian artist working from her tradition and identity.
We will end with a visit to Shabsu Cheese, a family business that Shaina founded together with her family. We will hear from her about Circassian culture, traditions, and the cheese-making process. Enjoy tastings of fresh traditional cheeses, thick and rich labneh, alongside hot and fresh “haluz” filled with melted cheese – a true celebration of taste and homely warmth.

We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
