In recent years, along with urban and social changes in Nahariya, a new and vibrant gallery and art scene has emerged at the Central Bus Station. Bringing together local creative forces with forces from Israel and the world, combining perspectives and, above all, placing art at the heart of the public space – open and accessible to everyone, at any age and time.
We invite you to get to know the artists, cultural figures, and social activists of the Yama Gallery and to meet the Central Bus Station from a new perspective of “wanderers”, on a tour and workshop.
What is an art gallery doing here? What are the reactions of the space? Who are the people of the Central Bus Station, the workers, passers-by, and returnees? What hidden stories might be discovered between the bus platforms?
We will start a gathering at the Yama Center in Nahariya. We will continue to get to know the place and the story of its establishment, a tour of the existing exhibition, a rotating workshop on demand and finally a gathering, sharing, and summary.
The meeting lasts about two hours. By appointment only.
Or, Maya, Noam & Stav, four artists and the founding members of the Culture and Livelihood movement in Nahariya since 2016. They founded the Yama Center out of a simple but powerful desire – for Nahariya to have a place of connection. A place where you can feel at home, create, meet people, and open the door to dreams.
