An exciting and inspiring meeting with the sculptor Yael Netanel who sculpts in clay, wool, and words. At the meeting, Yael will tell how sculpture became a healing tool of expression for inner mental processes that seek to be freed.
“The sculpting process allows me to draw strength from my inner world, to create from nothing and to create a world that has correction, healing, and compassion. Many times the sculptures I create are sugared with an internal process and sometimes they precede it, sometimes the sculptures are created out of a wish or a request, to connect with an emotion or feeling that at the moment, are still unattainable for me. Thus, in silence, blessing and gratitude, my fingers are transformed ― pain into love, breathing life into matter, and creating love in spirit.”
At the meeting, we will get to know the sculptures and poems that Yael creates, which are an integral part of her personal growth and development process in which she turned from a lonely child in the kibbutz children’s home, to a sad girl and in time to a whole woman, who knows how to draw strength from her inner world and bring light with it.
The meeting is suitable for groups interested in a different experience that has beauty, depth, inspiration, and healing.
Subject to prior arrangement.
A Seed of Love by Yael Netanel
I sowed a seed of love in my garden,
I was earth and water and light to him
Slowly, at the time, he struck a root in me
And now,
Watching
In its fruits that go out into the light.
The seeds of sculpture were sown into Yael’s childhood, during hours of pleasant and intimate creation with her mother on the kibbutz. However, another 40 years would pass before she turned her love of sculpting into a career.
“The female figures I sculpt are created with a lot of love — for women and their mature bodies from which life is created. Women are happy, love themselves, are grateful, accept their bodies, and celebrate life.”
