If you long for a moment of disconnection and a true connection to peace and nature, now is the time to climb up the mountain and reach the young kibbutz, Pelech. Between the landscapes of the Galilee and the remains of the old milking parlor, you will find a one-of-a-kind winery that offers seating in an open and covered structure overlooking a breathtaking view, and Mediterranean wines, naturally fermented.
You are invited to tastings and sips of 3-5 of the winery’s wines accompanied by explanations and a plate of goat and sheep cheeses produced in a local vineyard.
Pelech Winery is owned by Kibbutz Pelech, a young and diverse kibbutz whose members work together and separately while promoting shared values for a better society. Itay Bay, the winery’s winemaker, brought with him professional knowledge from France and the experience of the Galilee wineries, and together they created a home for Mediterranean wines, with natural fermentation — an approach of “less intervention, more truth”.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
