Lentil Soup Season at Beit Elfarasha
An Akko-Style Cooking Workshop with Khadija
Old Akko
With the first cool breeze of November, nothing beats gathering in the kitchen to cook together and enjoy a warm, homemade meal. At Beit Elfarasha in Old Akko, Khadija Abd El-Ghani invites you to an experience filled with the flavors, stories, and recipes of Akko’s local cuisine.
As the pots simmer, Khadija will share stories from her life in the Old City — from the narrow alleyways and neighbors to the family kitchens where her love for cooking first took root.
Together, you will prepare an Akko-style lemony lentil soup, roasted eggplant with tahini and crispy pita, spinach-filled fatayer, a fresh market salad, and maqluba with chicken. Once everything is ready, you’ll experience one of the meal’s most exciting moments: flipping the maqluba pot—hoping all the layers stay perfectly in place!
For dessert, save room for Beirut Nights—a chilled semolina pudding layered with cream and pistachios.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave well-fed, having discovered new flavors and gained recipes you can recreate at home (we’ll send them to you via WhatsApp).
Price: 300 NIS per person, including a workshop and a full meal.
