Our initiative is based on two main ideas:
First, to empower local women in Akko, most of whom are housewives.
Second, the cooking workshops conducted by local women are an opportunity to get to know more closely the daily life and lifestyle and customs of the locals in Old Akko.

Beit Elfarasha (The Butterfly House) invites you to learn how to prepare real, authentic Akko-style food. The experience includes a personal meeting and acquaintance with the host, followed by a guided tour of the local market in Akko.
Along the way, guests receive detailed explanations and purchase fresh raw materials straight from the market stalls, which are later used for cooking during the workshop. After the tour, participants return to Beit Elfarasha to begin the hands-on cooking session.
