An Encounter with Blacksmith Walied Khoury
Tradition, Creation, & Inspiration in the Galilee
Fassuta
Walied Khoury, a blacksmith and artisan, invites you to a unique experience that blends art, tradition, and a compelling personal story.
The encounter takes place in the picturesque village of Fassuta and features a live studio demonstration. Here, Walied transforms an iron bar into an impressive sculpture using ancient, traditional techniques — heating the metal over charcoal embers and employing meticulous hand-craftsmanship.
During the demonstration, Walied shares his personal journey and the path that led him to master this rare and unique craft.
Later, participants visit the gallery, which showcases a variety of sculptures, artworks, and designer furniture, while learning about the creative process, sources of inspiration, and the story behind the space’s founding.
The experience concludes on a terrace overlooking the breathtaking landscapes of the Galilee—a moment of tranquility, crisp mountain air, and a deep connection to Fassuta’s enchanting atmosphere.
