Horvat Kev is a fascinating archaeological site dating back to the Byzantine period, approximately 1,500 years ago. Nestled inside Yitzhak Rabin Park in Karmiel, the remains belong to an ancient monastic complex where visitors can admire an original church floor mosaic and an ancient winepress.

Combining a visit with a stroll through the surrounding park offers a pleasant outing with green spaces, playgrounds, a roller rink, and picnic spots.

Directions & Parking

Located in the Rabin neighborhood of Karmiel, the site is easily accessed from Road 85 by heading east from Akko toward Kiryat Shmona. Turn right at the western entrance of Karmiel onto Road 784, turn right toward the city, and then take a left on the Mota Gur Bridge onto Nasi’ei Yisrael Street toward the city center. Roughly 100 meters past the first roundabout, turn right into the dedicated parking area, where a short 50-meter walk through Yitzhak Rabin Park leads directly to the ruins.
