How does an idea transform into a printed work of art? In this session with Haviva Seligson, we go behind the scenes of the linocut printmaking world and get an up-close look at one of the most fascinating printmaking techniques.
The visit takes place at Haviva’s studio in Yodfat, where she shares her artistic journey and how she came to printmaking.
During the session, we will explore the creative process — from the initial idea and sketch to carving the linoleum block, and finally, the moment when ink, paper, and manual pressure transform the block into a print.
Haviva will demonstrate the printing process, allowing visitors to watch the image emerge on the paper.
Through the artworks, blocks, and materials in the studio, Haviva will also discuss the choices made along the way: how an idea evolves during the work, how a line acquires character and meaning, and how printing yields a slightly different result each time. This gathering offers a chance to see what isn’t always visible in the finished piece — the manual labor, the time, the tactile touch, and the process behind every print.
The visit is perfect for art lovers, the curious, and anyone wishing to peek into the creative process and meet the artist behind the work.
