Bahar Center – Hosting & Workshops
Bahar is a sanctuary for people—an inspiring, welcoming, and peaceful space set in a mountain village, boasting panoramic views that stretch all the way from Mount Hermon to the Mediterranean Sea. Visits to Bahar can be paired with two unique guided or self-guided excursion options:
1. Hararit Village Tour & The Laura of Netofa
Explore the spiritual heritage of Hararit and hear how it belongs to a network of mystical communities across the Galilee that formed around shared philosophies and alternative ways of life. The route continues through lush nature toward Mount Netofa to visit the Laura of Netofa—a community of solitary nuns living a life of prayer and asceticism deep in nature. Walk the scenic trail to their hidden prayer cave before returning to the compound on the mountain. This tour can be taken independently or accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide.
2. Village Encounters: Spiritual Masters & Local Artists
Situated at the edge of the mountain, Hararit has long drawn creative minds, scholars, and spiritual practitioners. This interactive tasting tour introduces you to the unique residents of the village:
-
Aviv Netzer: Raised in Hararit and trained as a Tibetan Buddhist Lama, Aviv shares insights on her childhood in the village and core Buddhist teachings, concluding with a short, relaxing meditation session.
-
Shir Super: A musician specializing in sound healing, Shir welcomes guests into his studio to showcase a collection of ancient instruments from around the world and play soothing, meditative melodies.
-
Ali Kauf: An artist, native resident, and teacher of Indian spiritual traditions, Ali hosts visitors at his Center for Ancient Medicines to share insights into sacred rituals, including traditional Indian sweat lodge ceremonies.
-
Gil Ron: A charismatic musician and storyteller who captivates audiences with rich knowledge, deep Galilean lore, and engaging performance.
Optionally conclude either tour with a relaxing meal at the compound.
