Every day at Saar begins with baking. At Yuval Saar’s bakery, breads (including sourdough) and a variety of French-style pastries and confections are baked on-site—all of which are sold that same day. Freshness is an essential part of the bakery’s philosophy; any items that remain unsold are not kept for sale the following day.
Throughout the week, you can find a variety of sourdough breads (as well as other types), including seeded bread, classic sourdough, and spelt bread. On Fridays, the bakery stocks an especially wide selection of breads, challahs, and French-style pastries.
The bread selection includes unique combinations, such as preserved lemon and Kalamata olive bread, nut bread, cranberry-nut bread, and the “Holy Trinity” loaf—a blend of rye, whole wheat, and spelt.
Alongside the breads, there is an array of sweet and savory French-style pastries: croissants, Danishes, bourekas, various filled pastries, and cakes.
The selection varies throughout the week, so there is always a reason to return and discover what has just come out of the oven.
Whether you are looking for fresh bread for home, a sweet treat to enjoy with your coffee, or French-style pastries for the weekend, it all begins at the Saar Bakery.
