Nestled among the old barracks of Kibbutz Ga'aton, a character-filled studio brimming with stories serves as a gateway into artist Liat Gilad's creative world.
At Studio Lil, which she established in 2006, Liat uses clay to craft a unique artistic language, drawing inspiration from ancient cultures, symbols, traditional crafts, and the natural world. Surrounded by shelves of ceramics and her own handcrafted objects, you are invited to step away from your daily routine, work with your hands, and discover the magic of creating with clay.
As winter approaches, we will gather for a hands-on workshop to create clay soup bowls, embellishing them with unique elements using molds or hand-sculpting techniques. Each participant can craft between one and three bowls, depending on their own pace; no prior experience is necessary.
Following the workshop, the bowls will remain at the studio to dry and be fired in a ceramic kiln. Once fired, you can take home the pieces you made with your own hands — perfect for serving hot soup in the winter, breakfast in the summer, or anything in between.
The workshop is suitable for ages 12 and up.
Price: 320 NIS per person, including instruction, all materials, and light refreshments.
Notes: You can collect finished pieces in person from the studio after the workshop, or have them delivered anywhere in Israel for an additional fee of 50 NIS.
