Walied developed an interest in iron at age 40, he never dealt with manual labor before that.
After finishing a short course on the subject, he began working iron and, not long after, won first place in a metal sculpting contest in England. Since then, he has received several awards in England and Italy, where his works are on display in different museums.
Walied works in a small smithy under his home, scattered with work tools, pieces of metal and black coffee brewing on charcoal. You can visit Walied at his smithy, hear his story, see a variety of ironworks and furniture he makes and, if you book in advance, you can work with him in a hands-on joined workshop.
