What’s On the Agenda: A Culinary Tour in the Rural Surroundings of Yarka
- Stop 1: From High-Tech to the World of Boutique Cheeses
We’ll begin the morning with a special, intimate encounter with a cheesemaker who made a real-life change: leaving the high-tech world behind to embrace a slower pace, focusing on local craftsmanship, handmade products, and high-quality ingredients. We will hear the personal story behind this choice, take an up-close look at cheesemaking, and discover how patience and passion turn simple raw ingredients into exceptional boutique cheeses.
And, of course, we will sample a selection of cheeses produced on-site—fresh, unique, and full of character.
- Stop 2: Boutique Coffee Tasting
We’ll pause for a tasting of high-quality boutique coffee and learn a bit about the establishment.
- Stop 3: Traditional Local Bakery
Next, we’ll visit a small, family-run traditional bakery, where a grandmother and granddaughter preserve a local tradition passed down through generations. Beside a blazing wood-fired oven, they handcraft fresh manakish — featuring dough baked on-site and topped with ingredients from the local culinary tradition.
We’ll taste several varieties of manakish, served piping hot straight from the oven—some of the most delicious and unique you will ever encounter.
- Stop 4: Tradition, Culture, & Aromas
We’ll visit a small, enchanting shop where ancient tradition meets contemporary design and a world of fragrance.
Amidst scented candles, essences, and aromas that fill the space, we’ll learn about Druze culture, customs passed down through generations, and the deep connection locals have to their homes, families, and the art of hospitality.
- Stop 5: Local Fusion Cuisine
We will visit a small, intimate, homey restaurant tucked away in a space that once served as a tailor shop—a spot that has evolved over the years into a character-filled culinary gem. Today, it draws visitors mainly through word-of-mouth, thanks to its atmosphere, warm hospitality, and fusion cuisine—served with meticulous simplicity and a great deal of love.
Price: 320 NIS per person (includes indulgent tastings, unique experiences, and surprises)
We’ll share the exact meeting point later.
